Dr. Jawn’s Comedy Variety Hour // Free Fringe Philly

Dr. Jawn is hosting a Comedy Variety Hour for Free Fringe Philly, and the whole thing will be improvised on the spot! The audience will provide suggestions to a panel of comedians who will take those suggestions and turn them into a Variety Show with stories, art, standup, improv, and other jawns!

At the threshold of the apocalypse, an aberration appears! She is bold, boisterous and impelled by the witness of her glory, Madonna. Call her a Goddess? Call her a Queen? Call her Mama, if you dare! With fullness, she arrives, gooch first, to shed skid marks, free asses and spread the good pubes to all Americans: the time has come to release our inners and QUEEF in the face of despair!

Join us Wednesday, September 18, 9:30PM at Tattooed Mom (21+) for the first showing of this new participatory ritual in development! Created by Chicago Theatre Artist, Fay Florence-Steddum.

Uncomfortable: A Stand Up Storytelling Show // Free Fringe Philly

Uncomfortable is a stand up and storytelling show where performers are invited to explore the humor in all things awkward, difficult, taboo, painful or otherwise uncomfortable to talk about. Some of the material may be very light and some of it will be heavier, but it is all guaranteed to be unique. Come spend a night with some amazing comedians as they entertain you, make you think, and bare their souls.

Performer Nikki Hartung is bringing her show You, Me, and Astrology to Tattooed Mom as part of Free Fringe Philly!

Sometimes life events happen that make you want to understand yourself and the world around you on a deeper level… to make sense of the chaos that flows around us and within us… and sometimes, we just want to be entertained. Western horoscopes can be just that; Guidance, explanation & gosh darn fun. In this work in progress show, Nikki explores the 12 zodiac signs through characters, personal essay and song in the hopes of –like many 20 something, city-living millennials– understanding more of the world around her and herself. Mixed as well with some dance, real horoscopes and — a face mask?! #taurusbaby”

In Pasta is coming to Tattooed Mom as part of Free Fringe Philly!

Have you ever achieved something you don’t think you deserved? Do you have big dreams that are incompatible with your small sense of self? Are you terrified that everyone you’ve tricked into thinking highly of you will one day see you who you really are? Do you eat your feelings?

Let’s slurp down those bad thoughts together! Get lost in the sauce as we explore imposter syndrome — the inability to accept how awesome you are– in the most al dente way possible. Mamma Mia, I’m a spicy meatball!

Drunk Lion follows an alcoholic Lion who spends his days drinking into oblivion in a cantina, until he meets Chris, a young foreigner learning how to speak Spanish. The unlikely pair forge an intoxicated bond over life, love, and alcohol.
