The Poisonous Primadonnas of Primavera sprout from the gardens of South Street and spew their spores in Philly’s Most Brutal Drag Show!
Witness the Horror of Philly’s Only All Heavy Metal Drag Show: SLAYHER! Tattooed Mom opens its gates to serve you the most gorgeous and glorious divas to be seen by the sun. These royal flowers will oust any weeds that might be cluttering your greenhouse, all while displaying fantastical looks, stunts and seductive petal dances. Philly’s sexiest bring you smoldering drag and burlesque for your entire pleasure on this auspicious holiday celebration. Indulge your senses and enjoy the glamourous vegan and non-vegan snacks and entrees available at the bar, alongside delectable and unique cocktails and draft beer selections.

This month SLAYHER pays tribute to heavy caveman riffs, sludge soaked bass lines and suffocating buzzing pedals. Prepare your vocal chords for the gauntlet of Philly’s Only Heavy Metal Screaming contest and perchance find yourself the proud owner of a prize package courtesy of Tattooed Mom. We’re looking for the most doomy, sludgey, stoner-metal squeal. Fans of all genres of metal are welcome to celebrate the glory of death and distortion!

Join us for an afternoon of lifting up queer bodies with an opportunity to draw with a live model and build community. We will do a structured schedule with gesture drawings in the beginning and moving into longer poses as time goes on. This is not a queer only event but it is a queer space and we do seek to highlight queer trans poc and fat bodies! Our ticket price is to cover paying our model for their time! Bring your favorite mediums and surfaces to work on and we’ll see you there!!

SCRIBES ON SOUTH is a poetry reading and open mic. The reading begins with a 20-minute featured reader and then moves through the open mic list for the rest of the night. Open mic readers have 5 minutes. There will be a space for poets to sell books.
SCRIBES ON SOUTH seeks to create community through poetry. Show out, share, and meet some new friends by sharing your work!
There is no theme; the only theme is poems. Good poems, bad poems, boring poems, fiery poems.
This reading is something a little different—this will be the book launch for Noah David Robert‘s newest book, What I Do in the Dark, described as a “lovesick balloon” by Amy Jannotti and a “collection from one of Philadelphia’s best emerging poets” by Lindsay Hargrave. The book is published by Alien Buddha press. Come out for the launch party and open mic!
Roberts will read for a 15 minute featured set and then host an open mic.
Read poems. Kick ass.

ABOUT THE HOST:
Noah David Roberts is a non-binary poet and artist based in Philadelphia, PA. Roberts has
released 4 collections: Us v. Them, 2017, about the nature of sexual trauma and political
violence; Strips, a divagation of the self, an endless ranting masterpiece; Slime Thing [and other
poems], a scream of anti-capitalism and stream of frustrated proletariat consciousness; Final
Girl Mythos, inspired by classic 80s and 90s slasher movies; and What I Do in the Dark,
forthcoming 2023. Since publication of their first book, Roberts has been published in Big
Scream, King’s River Review, Tribes Magazine, Horror Sleaze Trash, and more. In 2022,
Roberts won the Judith Stark poetry contest. Their Instagram handle is @the.apocalypse.poet.

Machiniac: A Play About Cybernetics + Awkwardly Unsuccessful Romance At The End Of The World
Stranded on a brick roof in Providence RI, an unlikely duo pass post-apocalyptic hours encountering memories that may or may not have happened or are not happening as they succumb to the temptations of biohazardous mechanical bionic unification. In the existential, dialogic tradition of Waiting for Godot, Machiniac is a play about cybernetics and awkwardly unsuccessful romance at the end of the world.
The cast includes An Talatinian, Lids Bierenday, and Ellen Zahniser. Tech crew includes Sam M-H and Addie Boyd. The play runs about 1 hour 10 mins with no intermission. Content warning for self harm, psychosis, descriptions of body horror, and partial nudity.
