Theatre Contra is hosting their first fundraiser! Join the team behind your favorite irreverent movie readings at your favorite sticker covered bar for an evening of movie trivia, performances, prizes, and more!
In between each round of trivia, we’ll be doing a live reading of some of the weirdest, and wildest movie trailers that have ever existed.
All proceeds go towards producing our upcoming show DARE NIGHT: NATIONAL TREASURE and supporting our work over 2024! This reading of a Nic Cage classic takes our live readings to a new level! Higher production value, bigger space, and YOU are in control – throughout the night you’ll have the opportunity to dare us to do whatever the hell you want.
Over 2024, we are producing 8 live readings and two productions – all of this is not possible without YOUR support. Thank you for joining us!

Recently voted “Best Comedy Night” by Philly Mag, Next In Line Comedy is a Philly-based comedy collective run by comedians Manny Brown and Tyler Wolf. The group has also been featured in Philadelphia Inquirer, Thrillist, and PhillyVoice.
Perfect for a date night or just a night out. The shows feature quickly rising comedians, who are ‘next in line,’ and gives Philly audiences a chance to watch incredible stand-up comedy at a low price (FREEEE!). Queer Life Drawing // March 2024 **SOLD OUT**
Join us for an afternoon of lifting up queer bodies with an opportunity to draw with a live model and build community. We will do a structured schedule with gesture drawings in the beginning and moving into longer poses as time goes on. This is not a queer only event but it is a queer space and we do seek to highlight queer trans poc and fat bodies! Our ticket price is to cover paying our model for their time! Bring your favorite mediums and surfaces to work on and we’ll see you there!!

Then look no further for the revenant crown of Queen of the Damned, King of the Damned or Supreme Being of the Damned. The best spring serve will be bestowed the title and a cash prize of $100 and a prize package courtesy of our venue Tattooed Mom.

Rot in the Garden of Eden
Dreamt in a field of flowers, the softness of a roses petal or the sharpness of its thorns, born to blossom and bloom to perish. The supreme of Spring embodies the birth and decay of life, love and lust. Bring the sensation of sin in your finest floral couture.
Contestants are tasked with arriving in 1 outfit fit for a performance and presentation. The outfit which fits the category the closest and impresses the judges the most wins. Participants are encouraged to incorporate the elements of their respective season into their performance.

The Competition will begin at 8pm at Tattooed Mom at 530 South St on their respective dates. The winner will receive their title and prize the night of the competition. All forms of performance artist are encouraged to apply, this is a fashion competition not a drag, burlesque, variety or sideshow competition. Only 6 applicants will be chosen for each season’s runway. If you are not chosen you will be invited to attend as a guest and considered in the event of any unexpected circumstances.
