Queen of the Damned // Cruel Summer Goth Fashion
Demons of the Abyss, Heed.
Your Dynasty Awaits.
Are you a sovereign of slaying the runway? Do you believe your fashion and form to be a spectacle befitting a crown? Then look no further for the revenant crown of Queen of the Damned, King of the Damned or Supreme Being of the Damned. The best spring serve will be bestowed the title and a cash prize of $100 and a prize package courtesy of our venue Tattooed Mom.

Summer – July 25th – theme is : Cruel Summer Swimwear
Inspired by The heat of the sun, the vast ocean, the jaws of the leviathan, seduce the senses in Summer florals, swimsuits and show off that skin. The Sweet Siren of the Summer Sea is seen as a sailor’s darkest desire and a scourge from the deep abyss.
Contestants are tasked with arriving in 1 outfit fit for a performance and presentation. The outfit which fits the category the closest and impresses the judges the most wins.
Featuring performances by Your Judges this Summer:
Volkie Leigh Versace – Miss Tabu 2024 and hostess of Diva Royale, Doll House Revue and Doll House Takeover!
Caresse Deville – Hostess of Cabaret of Carnage, NYCs heavy metal burlesque revue, and Slayher’s demonic legionnaire of devastation.
And The Queen of the Damned Spring, Verrina!
Lamia Lust, The Cursed Queen of Philadelphia and Hostess of Slayher: Philly’s Only All Heavy Metal Drag Show.
The Competition will begin at 8pm at Tattooed Mom at 530 South St on their respective dates.The winner will receive their title and prize the night of the competition. All forms of performance artist are encouraged to apply, this is a fashion competition not a drag, burlesque, variety or sideshow competition. Only 6 applicants will be chosen for each season’s runway. If you are not chosen you will be invited to attend as a guest and considered in the event of any unexpected circumstances.

SCRIBES ON SOUTH is a poetry reading and open mic. The reading begins with a 20-minute featured reader and then moves through the open mic list for the rest of the night. Open mic readers have 5 minutes. There will be a space for poets to sell books.

Ted Rees is a poet, essayist, and editor living and working in Philadelphia. His most recent book, Hand Me the Limits, was released in April by Roof Books. He is also the author of Dog Day Economy (Roof Books, 2022), Thanksgiving: a Poem (finalist for a Lambda Literary Award, Golias Books, 2020), and In Brazen Fontanelle Aflame (Timeless, Infinite Light, 2018). His essays have been published in The Back Room, The Poetry Project Newsletter, Libertines in the Ante-Room of Love: Poets on Punk, Full Stop Quarterly, and ON Contemporary Practice’s monograph on New Narrative. He is Associate Editor for The Elephants, as well as founder and co-editor of Asterion Projects with Levi Bentley.
Z Murphy, also known as the drag entertainer The ZanyThing, is a queer multiracial multimedia storyteller who did this silly goofy thing where she, like, lived with nazis for 5 months and then wrote a poetry collection about it. “Homegirl” first drafts are available for sale. She currently writes for an online magazine and is looking for work 👀👀 Follow their artistic journey @thezanything
