KAYTRANADA Night

FriSat
March 3March 4

Ever since Daniel Giangrandi had a Soundcloud (2012), he was a Kaytranada fan. He has seen him grow to worldwide acclaim and fame ever since – slowly but surely seeing the Montreal native get the flowers he deserves and following his every move since his elusive hip hop producer days. He now wants to spend his 26th birthday showcasing the ins and outs of dance music’s starboy by curating a meticulously crafted 3-4 hour mix to share with the city and friends of his idol’s extensive catalog and backlog of phenomenal movin’ and groovin’ music production. Come join him in celebrating his birthday but also in celebrating KAYTRANADA’s legacy and come get jiggy at Mom’s.

Quizzo for a Cause

MonMon
March 6March 6
6:00 pm9:00 pm

Please join Drexel Kline NLG on March 6th at Tattooed Mom’s for an evening filled with trivia, good eats, new friends, and all the laughs!

Starting on March 6th, the National Lawyers Guild will begin its Week Against Mass Incarceration with its chapters around the country holding events and panels to bring awareness to issues stemming from the American carceral state and the possible solutions we can work towards.

The Drexel Kline chapter is kicking the week off with a fundraiser to raise money for Books Through Bars, a West Philly organization that coordinates the donation of much-needed and oft-requested books to incarcerated people in several mid-Atlantic states. The money raised through “Quizzo for a Cause” will go directly to sponsoring a print run.  Through this sponsorship, a number of valuable books will be created such as the Jailhouse Lawyering Handbook and copies of the Constitution. Other important topics of personal enrichment, recreation, and skill-building will be delivered to provide instruction on varying interests like spiritual guidance, how to play chess, and tattoo design.

Our wonderful host for the evening is Dean Danielle Boardley (she/her) who serves as the Assistant Dean for Diversity, Inclusion, and Student Life at the Drexel University Kline School of Law. With over 15 years of experience in higher education, her primary focus has been helping individuals to develop personal awareness and manage their blind spots. Boardley helped create a variety of initiatives seeking to increase diversity and inclusion at the law school; these included the creation of the DiveIN Committee and the Stephen and Sandra Sheller Diversity Pipeline Program, which she created nearly single-handedly in 2019. She has led an ambitious agenda of activities to make the communities where she has a position of influence a more inclusive, welcoming, and responsive environment. We couldn’t be luckier to have such an amazing leader in the Drexel Kline community wielding the mic for the evening’s festivities!

It is sure to be a very fun night for a truly worthy cause and we hope to see you there!

– Drexel Kline NLG
