Gay Film club aims to revive the communal experience of cinema. We Host Mystery Screenings to encourage the audience (& ourselves) to let go of any preconceived notions they may have.

Our aim is to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space for anyone who loves film, loves chatting about film, or simply enjoys sitting in a dark room with a bunch other lgbtq+ while something plays on a screen.

DO NOT DISTURB Film Festival + Vendor Market

DO NOT DISTURB is an adult arts assembly founded on embodied liberation, curating events that channel creativity, community, and carnality into mutual aid and material action. The DO NOT DISTURB Film Festival will continue this effort with a one-day screening event of short films, promoting social, political and personal liberation via the liberated body in the motion picture. The festival will take place on Sunday, July 19th at Tattooed Mom, with ticket proceeds devoted to the Abortion Liberation Fund of PA. The schedule will include two film blocs, a vendor market, and an awards ceremony + mixer.

Screwball Screenings is back with BLOOD BITCHES: An Evening of
Lesbian Vampire Cinema! We’re featuring the work of Kat Mata, a horror filmmaker with a
special interest in sapphic vampires. After literal years in post production, she’s coming out of
her coffin to share the final cut of her thesis film, Honeymoon Hotel, about a bride that meets a
mysterious stranger on her wedding night. Followed by the official Honeymoon Hotel companion
VHS mixtape, a collage of some of the best moments in the lesbian vampire genre, revenge
movies, and music videos that fueled the making of her film. Because a man’s biggest fear
should always be a bloodlusting lesbian!

Screwball Screenings Presents Animation Abominations

Screwball Screenings is a film series that highlights oddball movies and pairs them with work from the minds of local Philly artists. We’re back baby and this time it’s ANIMATION ABOMINATIONS. These are the seedy, sleazy & surrealist animations your mother warned you about. We’re spotlighting filmmaker and animator Julia Cooke, along with some of the most oddball animations we could get our hands on. Brought to you by brains that were poisoned at a young age by 90’s & early 2000’s cartoons.

Julia Cooke is a filmmaker and artist from Baltimore, Maryland who specializes in animation, film, painting, and digital photography. She is completely self-taught, giving her art a unique, authentic attribute. She founded and hosts her own film festival, and runs a DIY concert venue, where many of her paintings and animations are showcased.
