Sippin’ and Stitchin’ Gritty Embroidery Workshop
Join us on Sunday, October 24th from 4-6pm at Tattooed Mom for a Gritty’s back at Tattooed Mom—and so are Sippin’ and Stitchin’ Embroidery Workshops! At this event that’s suitable for beginner and seasoned stitchers alike, we’ll be stitching up our version of Philadelphia’s orange sweetheart.
This is a ticketed event. Tickets are on sale via Sippin’ and Stitchin’s website.
$45 per person. 21+, upstairs.
Drinks are not included, but available! If you plan on eating, please enjoy your meal before or after the workshop!
Please note: This event is 21+ and due to Philadelphia regulations, proof of vaccination is required for entry.
Tickets include:
- An embroidery kit: 5” hoop, patterned fabric, SIX variations of embroidery thread, needle and needle-threader (yours to keep!)
- Two hours of guidance – we’ll be going over embroidery basics as well as all stitches, tips n’ tricks needed to complete your project
- Access to all materials necessary to complete your patch!
- A comfy work space on the 2nd floor of Tattooed Mom (with access to the bar & our full food menu!)
Shock Exchange Vol. 8: On The Street — POSTPONED
Due to an 80% rain forecast, this event has been postponed. New date TBA.
Shock Exchange is coming back to South St. for its 8th installment of Philadelphia’s finest underground DIY market. The street will be blocked off for this independent nighttime outdoor punk bazaar. Never an entrance fee. Masks and common sense encouraged.
Tattooed Mom will be serving food and drinks all night. Lots and lots of seating / drinking / hangs available in our outdoor concrete garden.

Craftivism Opening Event, Friday, November 5th, 2021, 6–9pm
Come get crafty at the National Liberty Museum on the first Friday in November to celebrate the opening of our newest exhibition, Craftivism: Activism through Craft. Exhibition artists Ellie Z, Omkari Williams, and Shannon Downey will provide artist chats every half hour. At 7pm, join artist Shannon Downey as she conducts a fun and engaging 1-hour embroidery class for all skill levels! (Opening Event is FREE with General Admission. Cranksgiving is a food drive scavenger hunt where cyclists & other participants race around the city to purchase food from various “checkpoints.” Folks can race their way through to compete for prizes, take a leisurely bike ride towards the finish line, or just join us at Tattooed Mom for the food drop-off & afterparty! All collected food will be sorted and donated to Philabundance!
Can’t make the bike ride? You can join our virtual fundraiser and donate with just a few clicks! Help us smash our donation goal of $2,000 this year!
The event is free and open for all to participate. Make sure you RSVP to join the rad after party at Tattooed Mom!

Sip City Mixer: Philly LGBTQ Women’s Party
This has been on Sip City Mixer’s wishlist a long time. Come by for Mom hugs, cold drinks, and the best damn tater tots ever. And a yuuuge pool table!
Sip City Mixer is an intentionally diverse, inclusive, welcoming and safe space for femmes, women, trans, non-binary, and gender nonconforming queer Philadelphians. We’ll be upstairs at TMoms with party games, performances, raffles, and more with your chance to see 2020’s Virtual Drag Royalty Winners Icon Ebony Fierce and Mx Deej Nutz!
There is a suggested donation of $10-$20 but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Party games will be just $1 and all proceeds will go directly to Ty Brown’s campaign for State House Representative of the 182nd District here in Philadelphia.
