PHILLY FOR CHANGE is where local progressives meet to discuss progressive change. It’s a monthly opportunity to meet and engage candidates for local office, ask questions and get involved with grass roots activism.
Every FIRST Wednesday of the month, meet a variety of local politicians, candidates & activists. Get invested in YOUR community! All politics are local. Change starts with us!
Philly for Change is a group of reform-minded progressive Democrats. They fight for democracy, social and economic justice for all people, peace, the environment and the green economy at the city, state, and federal levels.

They’ll be raising funds for PA Adapt, “a grass-roots community that organizes disability rights activists to engage in nonviolent direct action, including civil disobedience, to assure the civil and human rights of people with disabilities to live in freedom in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Accessibility Note: Reading is upstairs and non-bumper car seating is limited, and tends to be first-come, first-serve. If you need assistance or accommodations, please let us know.

JERKS Productions and Sophie Strachan are bringing the Wearable Art Shirt Show to the 2nd floor of Tattooed Mom!
Join us for the second installment of these material-themed art shows, meant to foster a fun artistic challenge & to transplant all of us out of our comfort zones, all while celebrating unique and different mediums!
There will also be a raffle held during the show which will benefit Philly AIDS Thrift! Raffle items will be from local artists/studios such as No Face, and others to be added!

Find out more »Dissident Bodies: A Live and Video Performance
Dissident Bodies is a live and video performance event at Tattooed Mom, organized by Salomé Cosmique and Verónica Ponce de León, presenting the work of 17 artists from Latin America, France, India and the United States. Their varied responses to self-image and acceptance of ones body are at the center of this performance.
These talented male, female, and gender non-conforming artists will share their ability to accept their bodies, and how in doing so, they have fractured the societal conventions which regulate and restrict us through expectations of gender and beauty.
Dissident Bodies seeks to empower both the artist and the audience to accept their bodies as they are.
It is often difficult to accept ourselves as time passes and our bodies change. Forming wrinkles, gaining weight, growing white hair, transitioning (or choosing not to transition) for one’s gender identity, giving birth and accommodating new life. These changes are a part of life, but we are encouraged to hide them.

The very first Sourpuss Flea Market will be hosted at Tattooed Mom! Sourpuss Clothing will be selling one-of-a-kind samples, never released items, housewares, and accessories samples, along with some production pieces!
Come upstairs and shop from 1-4pm on Sunday, Sept 16th to snag yourself some goodies.

The L Word Quizzo is back & gayer than ever!

We will be collecting donations for the Trans Women of Color Collective during the event!
There will be 6 rounds with 6 questions each, with a maximum of 6 people per team. Prepare for questions about all six seasons AND relevant L Word-adjacent content (study up on that cast and that era)! The winning team will rewarded a TBD prize that Bette would surely frown upon just as she would a community art show!
