DESCRIPTION:SCRIBES ON SOUTH is a poetry reading and open mic. The reading begins with a 20-minute featured reader and then moves through the open mic list for the rest of the night. Open mic readers have 5 minutes. There will be a space for poets to sell books. \nSCRIBES ON SOUTH seeks to create community through poetry. Show out\, share\, and meet some new friends by sharing your work! \n\n\nThis reading’s featured readers are Mac Chandler and Kate Carey. \nRead poems. She has been published in some places and not in others. This August she will begin curating and hosting a new series for Moonstone Arts\, titled Premonitions. She writes mainly about mental health and enjoying a good shower beer.\n\n\n\n\n\nKate Carey (she/her) is a fat queer polyamorous slut who sometimes spends whole days in bed crying because feelings are hard. Through deeply personal poetry and creative nonfiction\, she touches on issues relating to trauma\, fat liberation\, mental illness and sexuality.
