DESCRIPTION:The beloved Accidental Player reading series is returning to TMOMs in 2019 to celebrate the release of Sean Collins‘ new chapbook\, Planchette\, which also Accidental Player’s first release as a publisher! \nThe night will feature readings by Sean\, Meg Pendoley\, Ray DeJesús\, and Sham-e-Ali Nayeem. \nDoors 7pm // Reading 8pm \nEnjoy this event with our Pierogi Thursday specials:\n50¢ pierogi from noon-10pm\n& half off all drafts 5-7pm and 10-11pm \nJoin the Facebook Event and invite all your pals! \n*** \nSean Collins was born in Amherst\, Massachusetts and has lived in Boston\, Salem\, Seattle\, San Francisco\, and Oakland. He moved to Philadelphia in the Summer of 2016 and he co-organizes the reading series Charmed Instruments with Christy Davids. \nSham-e-Ali Nayeem is a Philadelphia based poet and visual artist who was born in Hyderabad\, India and raised in both the UK and the US. A former public interest lawyer supporting economic justice for survivors of family and intimate partner violence\, she is the recipient of the Loft Literary Center Spoken Word Immersion Fellowship. Sham-e-Ali’s poetry has appeared in publications such as Apiary\, Dusie and Mizna\, and can be found in anthologies\, including Shattering the Stereotypes: Muslim Women Speak Out (Olive Branch Press\, 2005)\, Living Islam Out Loud: American Muslim Women Speak (Beacon Press\, 2005) and Shout Out: Women of Color Respond to Violence (Seal Press\, 2008). She is the author of the forthcoming book of poetry City of Pearls (UpSet Press 2019). \nRay DeJesús is a poet born and raised in Brooklyn\, NY. \nMeg Pendoley is a writer living in Philadelphia. She’s interested in queer homes (bodies\, houses\, neighborhoods)\, the boundaries and histories they share\, and how what happens there might be recorded and kept. Her work appears in Apiary\, Cleaver\, and Tin House’s Open Bar. \nPlease note this reading take place upstairs in a room with limited non-bumper car seating.
